What is the purpose of the UCI Big Ideas Challenge?

The UCI Big Ideas Challenge is our opportunity to source visionary ideas from faculty, staff and students that might not otherwise be considered as we prepare for the next comprehensive fundraising campaign.

 

Who can submit an idea?

Current UCI students, faculty and staff can submit an idea.

Is the UCI Big Ideas Challenge a grant opportunity?

No. The UCI Big Ideas Challenge is a way for the university to source visionary ideas and identify fundraising campaign priorities. UCI aims to partner with donors and the community to help advance the university by supporting these big ideas.

 

By submitting my big idea, does this guarantee my idea will be funded?

There is no guarantee that ideas will receive funding, even if selected as part of the ultimate round. However, by submitting a big idea, it will gain exposure across campus and within University Advancement who will compile all submissions that meet the criteria into a catalog of potential funding opportunities that may be adopted over the life of the fundraising campaign.

 

What is the deadline to submit a big idea?

The submission deadline has been extended to Monday, April 9, 2018.

 

Can I submit more than one big idea?

Yes. You can submit more than one big idea.
